Defending Our Climate Future

Through our Defending Our Climate Future campaign, the Platform for a Just Climate is raising our collective voices in opposition to the continued attacks on federal environmental justice investments, protections, and communities. Through this campaign, we are educating federal policymakers to recognize and frame environmental justice protections as essential to building the future our communities need and deserve.

We build power by deepening relationships with environmental justice champions in Congress, mobilizing our network of signatories, and equipping coalition members with talking points, credible data, and constituent-rooted stories. As part of this campaign, we conduct regular briefings to educate policymakers, coordinate statements, communicate about the impacts of rollbacks, and hold information sessions to mobilize partners.

Building Just Climate Futures

Through the Building Just Climate Futures campaign, we advocate for and develop grassroots-led policy solutions emerging from the environmental justice communities represented in the coalition. We champion the progress of key states in advancing policies that reduce pollution in environmental justice communities and develop coalition-aligned frameworks to lay the groundwork for the next wave of federal action on climate and environmental justice.

The Platform for a Just Climate believes that frontline communities hold the solutions that will power a just transition from toxic pollution and climate chaos, to safe, healthy and just climate futures. Through this campaign, the Platform for a Just Climate uplifts environmental justice leaders as trusted experts on climate solutions and ensures national environmental advocacy supports local environmental justice priorities.
