Presidential candidate and former Vice President Joe Biden released his Plan for rural America. He joins other Democratic candidates in outlining policy proposals aimed at addressing the needs of rural communities.
Biden’s plan includes provisions for expanding broadband access, supporting family farmers, and investing in clean energy in rural areas. The plan also addresses climate change, calling for investments in resilient infrastructure.
Meanwhile, a coalition of more than 70 environmental and progressive groups released the Equitable and Just National Climate Platform, outlining principles for climate policy that centers environmental justice.
The platform calls for directing 40% of climate investments to frontline communities and ensuring that workers in the fossil fuel industry are not left behind in the transition to clean energy.
